When it comes to preserving the traditional food systems of Northern Ghana, few names shine brighter than Awudu Amina Pagnaa. Inspired by the culinary wisdom passed down from her grandmother, Amina has made it her mission to safeguard and promote these cherished local recipes.
Her journey caught the attention of Gaida-Com Group, who recognized the importance of her work and partnered with her to further her initiative. Their collaboration began three years ago with the production of a promotional video for her Duduhugu Kitchen, a platform through which Amina consistently celebrates traditional northern dishes.
Now, Amina is taking her mission to the next level with a traditional food festival in Tamale. This event seeks to revive local recipes lost to the tides of modernisation and the influx of foreign cuisines. The festival aims to inspire a reconnection with authentic flavors and celebrate the region’s rich culinary history.
The Kali Bundira Chugu food festival will take place on October 19, 2024, at the Choggu Naa’s Palace from 8 AM to 5 PM. It promises a day filled with delightful food, cultural appreciation, and community bonding.
Don’t miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in the flavors of Northern Ghana!
